The next Noise Project prompt was all about synaesthetics, so I loved it.
This week spend some time sifting through the hazy layers of noise that make up your everyday. Explore the way these sounds affect your senses, your body, your daily experience.I spent Friday reinterpreting my experiences as visual metaphors, with the hope I’d get through a mini’s worth of strips over the weekend. I made it as far as the linework for the first two strips.
Some day, I’ll get them all done, and I’m going to go around calling them mitafhorika.
“There Goes the Neighborhood”Ink and acrylic on paper mounted on cradled panel8” x 10” x 2”Here’s my LOST-inspired piece for Gallery 1988’s “Bad Robot” show, which pays tribute to the TV shows and movies created by JJ Abram’s production company, Bad Robot. I chose to do another depiction of Ben Linus (my first one, for a LOST-specific show, can be seen here). This time he’s witnessing the crash of Oceanic Flight 815.
The show opens this Friday at Gallery 1988 (WEST), so check it out if you’re in the area!
News! My entry to the Chicago Fringe Festival poster contest won. Expect it to see it running around in Chicago in the next few months.
Congratulations, Alex!
