Why sometimes I *don’t* hate going to the cinema

  • The older man in front of me who cried during one of the final scenes but tried to pretend like he wasn’t.
  • The kid (maybe 13-14) behind me who was the only other person to applaud at the end AND the only other person to stay for the credits. We started talking about post-credit bonus scenes and I asked if he’d seen The Avengers. His face lit up and he said, “Shawarma!” Then we talked about the new Spiderman and I said I hadn’t seen it. His face became very serious, then he leaned over and said, “You need to see it. You need to go out there and buy a ticket to the next show. You need to see it right now.”
